THIS YEAR THE "ALIX DE ROTHSCHILD COMPETITION 2007"  THEME  WAS "REFLECTIONS" AND WAS OPEN TO ALL MEDIA. DIGITAL PHOTOS WERE SENT TO ENGLAND. FOUR JUDGES (GALLERY OWNERS) CHOSE 12 FINALIST. 
ON APRIL 2007  HILDA'S ORIGINAL WORK WAS JUDGED BY AN ISRAELI PANEL,
ON APRIL 12th., AT "MISHKENOT SHAANANIM" IN THE CITY OFJERUSALEM,  WINNERS CEREMONY WAS HELD AND HILDA MEROM WON THE SECOND PRIZE.   HERE ARE SOME PICTURES OF THE WORK.

STATEMENT
The exhibition's subject of reflections caught me at a time of intense introspection which encouraged me to delve deeper into the theme's creative possibilities. This specific art work represents both physical and metaphoric possibilities for me. There are the obvious physical reflections mirrored back to us by the elements. But there is also the eternal dilemma mankind has been burdened with in his/her eternal search for self identification due to the infinite and confusing facets of personality that are reflected back to us in our personal soul searching. Can we go beyond the reflections and ego?  Will we ever be  capable of transcending the images that are mirrored back to us by life to discover our true identity?
